OUR PLACE, OUR FUTURE

Grow programs and membership, secure an interim home, and expand statewide participation.

The vision is long term, yet the work is already underway through programs and events, both online and in person. In Round Top, Studio Texas is building toward a campus of studios, lodging, and galleries. As our community grows, our focus is on creating opportunities for artistic exchange, collaboration, and inspiration across borders.

MEET THE HEART BEHIND STUDIO TEXAS

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Studio Texas is led by a Board that oversees mission, programs, and fiscal health while advancing our long-term campus vision.

Amanda Danning

PRESIDENT

Amanda Danning is an internationally recognized forensic sculptor whose work with the Smithsonian, History Channel, and National Geographic has brought new understanding to figures from North American history. Her reconstructions appear in museums, universities, and books on history and forensics. Today, she focuses on creating sculpture in metal and recycled glass while continuing to share the historical stories she helped bring to life. As president, Amanda is passionate about making art accessible. She loves breaking down the idea that art is elitist and finds joy in watching visitors connect with plein air artists and the landscapes they capture. Helping a patron discover a piece that truly speaks to them is one of her greatest rewards.

Karen Vernon is an accomplished painter working in watercolor, acrylic, oil, and pastel. With more than 30 years as an instructor and juror, she has also taught art business and marketing courses across the nation. Kimberly Crawford has more than 35 years of experience in small business accounting and management. She brings expertise in helping entrepreneurs build strong financial foundations and sustainable operations. She has hands‑on work experience with a diverse range of clients, including writers, designers, artists, photographers, retail establishments and non-profits throughout this area of Texas. More than simply preparing the accounting documents, she works to guide owners through the complexities of growth and financial organization. Her consulting projects have included business start‑ups, ongoing business management, and the development of systems for tracking financial inputs and improving operational clarity. Known for her practical approach and ability to translate financial data into meaningful insights, she supports creative professionals and small business owners in making informed decisions that strengthen their long‑term success.

Lilla's commitment to community service and her involvement with prestigious organizations such as the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, Houston Junior League, Festival Hill Institute, Round Top Family Library, ARTS for Rural Texas and Round-Top Carmine Education Foundation, further solidify her connection to the rural lifestyle and the values it embodies.
