This is the first live show in several years and promises to be filled with exciting opportunities to see an exhibit of winning artworks from the various LSAG-sanctioned shows and attend classes and demonstrations by artists and professionals from across the state. Additionally, vendor booths with new and needed art supplies promise an exciting opportunity to learn and explore your favorite art products.
Studio Texas in collaboration with Ampersand Art Supply will share a room at the show, creating a space for artists to explore professional materials, connect with fellow creatives, and learn more about upcoming events. Here we will offer ongoing demonstrations and will be on hand throughout the event to meet and talk with prospective members about Studio Texas’ mission, goals, and member benefits. We are especially proud to highlight that our own Karen Vernon worked closely with Ampersand in developing Aquabord, a surface designed specifically for watercolorists. During the show, Karen and other artists will demonstrate how you can use Ampersand products to create museum-quality, archival works, sharing insights drawn directly from her role in the board’s development. We will also have an array of Ampersand products available for purchase at special show pricing, making this a great opportunity to see, learn about, and acquire high- quality archival art surfaces.
As a special benefit of this collaboration, Studio Texas members are invited to answer our Call for Art, entering up to two framed artworks created on Ampersand products. These will be displayed in the shared room during the show—an excellent opportunity to showcase our members’ artwork to a broad and engaged audience.
